ABSTRACT
As más oclusões Classe II, subdivisão, podem ser tratadas por diversos recursos ortodônticos. O principal fator etiológico da Classe II subdivisão é o posicionamento distal dos primeiros molares inferiores do lado da Classe II e que, secundariamente, pode ser causada por um posicionamento mesial dos primeiros molares superiores do lado da Classe II. Este artigo relata um caso clínico de má oclusão Classe II subdivisão tratado com sucesso, por meio de extrações assimétricas. A extração do segundo pré-molar inferior direito (45) facilitou a perda de ancoragem do lado direito inferior para uma relação Classe I de molar e canino. As alterações dentárias anteroposteriores restabeleceram a oclusão normal. Os incisivos superiores e inferiores ficaram em posição agradável com relação ao perfil do paciente, com compensação dentária e cefalométrica
The Class II subdivision malocclusions can be treated using different orthodontic resources. The main etiological factor of Class II subdivision is the distal anatomic position of the first molar on the Class II side, which can be, secondarily, caused by a mesial positioning of the first molars on the side of Class II. This article reports a clinical case of Class II malocclusion subdivision successfully treated by means of asymmetric extractions. The second lower right premolar extraction (45) facilitated the anchorage loss on the lower right side, toward a Class I molar and canine relationship. The anteroposterior dental modification restored the normal occlusion. The upper and lower incisors were in suitable position regarding the profile of the patient, with cephalometric and dental compensation.
